Preparation of bulk samples

Preparation of large scale bulk samples forms an important part of our work in the TAILLIQ project. Such material can then be used for various tests such as beam centrifuge, calibration chamber, and a range of element tests.

This video shows Riccardo Fanni and David Reid mixing and wetting up ~600 kg of gold tailings, prior to bagging the material for future use. This process means that each of the bags has identical material in it. Such consistency improves our ability to relate element test behaviour to the results of larger tests like the beam centrifuge and calibration chamber.
